TOP 5: Fave TV Shows Of All Time

Previously, I shared my 10 Favourite Films of All Time, and now I’m going to share my ‘5 Favourite TV Shows of All Time’ with you.

1. BOB’S BURGERS (2011-present)

20th Century Fox Television

This animated show is hilarious! The characters are all amazing. My favourite is Tina Belcher, an awkward girl going through her teenage phase, becoming obsessed with boys, zombies and horses. Bob’s Burgers is often compared to The Simpsons and Family Guy. However, the one thing I love more about Bob’s Burgers than the other two is a simple fact that The Belchers love each other very much. Homer Simpson often chokes his son, Bart. The Griffins often bully the eldest daughter, Meg. Yes, The Belchers do argue with each other, but at the end of the day, all they have are respect and love for each other. In my opinion, that’s what precious about Bob’s Burgers compared to the other adult animation shows out there.

2. PUSHING DAISIES (2007-2009)

Warner Bros. Television Distribution

This was a BRILLIANT show with a BRILLIANT concept, but sadly it was cancelled after two seasons. I definitely enjoyed the quirky vibe of the show, its funny characters, and incredible writing. The show is about Ned, who has the ability to bring the dead back to life but with consequences. Besides being a pie-maker, he also solves crimes with Emerson, a private investigator, and Chuck, Ned’s recently-deceased childhood crush who he brought back to life. Such an amazing show!

3. BLACK MIRROR (2011-present)

Endemol UK

Another brilliant show with a brilliant concept, Black Mirror is an anthology series that delves into the darker side of advanced technology in our modern society. The first episode I’ve ever watched is called “Be Right Back”. The haunting portrayal of a woman wanting to communicate with her dead lover is simply chilling, especially with the help of an online service that lets people stay in touch with the deceased. The show was cancelled in 2014, but Netflix bought the rights and will release Season 3 this month!

4. STRANGER THINGS (2016-present)

Netflix

A wonderfully-written show with incredible characters, Stranger Things is Netflix’s best show, in my opinion. I especially love how the creators opted to stay away from giving their characters the stereotypical Hollywood tropes. I have reviewed everything I love about this show, so please check it out here.

5. IN THE FLESH (2013-2014)

A not-your-typical zombie show that somewhat gives some humanity towards the zombies or Partially-Deceased-Syndrome (PDS) sufferers. The show focuses on Kieran, a deceased teenager who recently rose from the dead. He returns to his small hometown, where everyone fears him and the other PDS sufferers. Now, Kieran has to face the scrutiny of the villagers while also trying to deal with the guilt of his suicide over the loss of his best friend and lover, Rick. In The Flesh features a zombie lead character, who is also gay, which you don’t see on TV very often. Unfortunately, this show was cancelled after two seasons with a bloody cliffhanger! Bring the show back!

In my humble opinion, these five TV shows are the only ones with brilliant storylines and incredible characters. I have other TV shows that I really, really enjoy watching, like Sherlock, Doctor Who, American Horror Story, My Mad Fat Diary and Marvel’s ABC/Netflix TV shows (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage). But Bob’s Burgers, Pushing Daisies, Black Mirror, Stranger Things and In The Flesh are just my ultimate favourites.
